Welcome graphic

The Whitecaps play at Swangard stadium, which has a capacity of 5,288. The stadium is located at the corner of Kingsway and Boundary in Burnaby BC.

The club plays in the United Soccer Leagues first division which is considered the second division in the United States. As of 2009 the league consists of 11 teams that play an unbalanced 30 game schedule and then playoffs to determine a league champion. The top 7 teams advance to the playoffs with the the top team in the table receiving a bye in the first round. In a completely stupid move the league has announced the the playoff final will now be a two game aggregate series as opposed to a one game championship final. Vancouver also competes in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship for the Voyageurs cup. The winner of this tournament gets to play in the CONCACAF Champions league.

The south side of Swangard stadium is where the most vocal supporters watch the games from. Visiting teams goalkeepers hate playing in the south end of the field.

This site will be updated as often as possible.

Whitecaps up to MLS in 2011

The Whitecaps have been awarded an MLS expansion franchise and will be joining that league in 2011.  In the meantime they are going to spout off the usual crap announcing a vote for a name and colours etc.  Then they will announce that the name "Whitecaps" is the winner.  An annoying waste of time but one the Whitecaps marketing department thinks is valuable free advertising.
